Tucked in the rolling fields of Canale di Pirro, the north part of Valle d’atria, in the heart of Puglia, Casa Cali is a serene blend of tradition, design and sustainability. Once abandoned, this late 1700’s farmhouse has been thoughtfully reimagined into a light-filled, three bedroom retreat, where the simplicity of rural life meets refined modern living.
The house features three spacious bedrooms and four elegant bathrooms, finished with natural materials: hand-applied lime plaster, concrete, wood and local stone. A professional-grade kitchen open to a relaxed dining area, designed for slow meals, good wine and long conversations.
Step outside to a shaded pergola for alfresco dining and unwind beside the infinity swimming pool, which open onto expansive views of the surrounding countryside - rolling fields, dry stone walls, olive groves and orchards stretching as far as the eye can see. The garden, designed by award-winning Studio Paz, blends native plants, aromatic herbs, and sculptural stone paths - honouring the rhythms of the land and creating a setting that feels both wild and intentional.
The design of the house balances clean northern lines with the rustic soul of a traditional Pugliese masseria - reclaimed stone floors, custom furniture crafted by local artisans, and hand-forged ironwork all contribute to its quiet character.
Sustainability is at the heart of everything. The home is solar-powered, naturally insulated and built using reclaimed and locally sourced materials - including salvaged stone from nearby abandoned buildings. Every decision was made with care, to preserve what was here and build something lasting.
Whether you’re swimming at sunset, cooking under the pergola, or simply soaking in the stillness, this is a place to reconnect- with nature, with beauty, and with yourself.
